NEW YORK, NY (April 19, 2010) – Oscar-and Grammy-winning superstar Jennifer Hudson graces the cover of the May/June issue of Weight Watchers Magazine and reveals more regarding her personal weight loss story. Hudson, who’s been following Weight Watchers for several months and was recently announced as the brand’s ambassador, shares insights including her motivation to eat more healthfully after the birth of her son David Jr., past experiences with fad diets and her love of spicy foods over sweets. In the Weight Watchers Magazine feature, Hudson says none of her career triumphs compare to the birth of her son, David Jr. After his birth, Hudson says she was inspired to adopt a more healthful lifestyle and for herself and to be a parental role model for her son. In the article, she also discusses several different diets that left her feeling deprived before discovering Weight Watchers. The article discusses some of Hudson’s diets and weight changes dating back to when she cut out fried foods and began jogging before appearing on American Idol, to “eating all the cookies, cakes and pies (she) could” to gain 20 pounds for her award-winning role as Effie in Dreamgirls. In the article, Hudson says she’s feeling more at home her healthier, more fit body. She notes that she’s started to walk-run for 45 to 60 minutes a day – something she can do even while on vacation or traveling for her busy schedule, which includes her forthcoming role as Winnie Mandela, the wife of South African leader Nelson Mandela.
