SAN DIEGO (April 12, 2010) Friends and family members of Sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) wait on the pier as the ship moors at its new homeport at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego. Carl Vinson and Carrier Air Wing 17 conducted humanitarian and disaster relief operations in Haiti during Operation Unified Response and held partnership exercises with seven Latin American countries as part of Southern Seas 2010.
