USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) makes, distributes water to Haitian

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (Jan. 19, 2009) Sailors aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) load an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter with water. The water is then flown to Port-Au-Prince where Sailors work with U.S. Army soldiers to unload the water. The helicopter is assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 9 and is embarked abaord Carl Vinson with Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17. The Navy is rendering humanitarian and disaster relief as part of Operation Unified Response after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused severe damage near Port-au-Prince on Jan. 12, 2010.
