Crowds gather to 'test' confetti in Times Square ahead of New Year's Eve
On Sunday, December 29, crowds gathered to watch a practice confetti drop in New York City's Times ahead of the famed ball drop on New Year's Eve.
Tourists and locals had the chance to write down their wishes for the coming year on scraps of paper that will be mixed in with the confetti released during the famed New Year's Eve celebration.
Within minutes, the stage and nearby streets were blanketed in confetti — a preview of what crowds can expect in Times Square on Tuesday December 31, when 3,000 pounds of confetti will be dropped by hand from nearby buildings.
