PONTIANAK, DIO-TV.COM, Minggu, 20 Oktober 2024 - The Dayak Tribe threatens to withdraw support for the National Capital in East Kalimantan Province, Indonesia.

The threat is because not a single indigenous Dayak ethnic group sits as a member of President Prabowo Subianto's Cabinet.
Prabowo Subianto was inaugurated as President of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Replacing Joko Widodo who has served two terms as President of Indonesia, 2014 - 2024.

The threat was conveyed by the Head of the People's Economy Division of the Dayak International Organization, Ajonedi Minton.

Ajonedi Minton, a cadre of the Gerindra Party in West Kalimantan Province, Prabowo Subianto's political party.

As quoted by the TikTok account @diotv.com, Saturday night, October 19, 2024.

Ajonedi Minton is disappointed because in the Indonesian Presidential Election, February 14, 2024, the Dayak people supported Prabowo Subianto.

"After becoming President, Prabowo Subianto forgot about us Dayaks," said Ajonedi Minton.

Ajonedi Minton said that not a single Dayak ethnic group was included in the cabinet, proving that they experienced economic, political and cultural injustice.

In fact, in terms of the quality of human resources, the Dayak ethnic group is not inferior to other ethnic groups in Indonesia.

According to Ajonedi, initially the Dayaks hoped that by moving the National Capital to Kalimantan, Dayaks would be involved in strategic positions.

It turned out, said Ajonedi Minton, that President Prabowo Subianto, like Joko Widodo, did not care about the political fate of the Dayaks.

Ajonedi Minton threatened to mobilize Dayak communities throughout Kalimantan to reject the National Capital in Kalimantan.

Since Indonesia's independence in 1945, Dayaks in Indonesia have always been victims of discrimination and criminalization.

Dayak customary land was seized, under the pretext of development.***
