Local songs are playing. Tsugaru yosarebushi, Tsugaru jonkarabushi, they are nice. Tsugaru aiyabushi too.
The smoke from the tobacco drifts through the air. Then it gradually fades and disappears.

Description:
The min’yō most widely spread in Japan is the group of Haiyabushi, but this song has completely transformed into the Tsugaru style, with many variations in its lyrics. This recording includes two variations with different modes. The second half of the recording was heard by the vocalist from his mother when he was a child. Although he sang this song when he won a competition, he did not like the style he sang for the judges, so the recording is not included (the tempo is much faster and more technically elaborate than this recording.) The accompaniment is originally played with a Tsugaru-jamisen, but this recording uses a shamisen of hosozao (thin neck).
