सावन का महीना भगवान शिव की कृपा प्राप्त करने के लिए सबसे उत्तम माना जाता है. वहीं सोमवार का दिन भी भोलेनाथ को समर्पित है होता है. इसलिए सावन में पड़ने वाले सोमवार का बहुत अधिक महत्व माना जाता है. सावन के महीने में भोलेनाथ की कृपा प्राप्त करने के लिए श्रद्धालु विशेष रूप से सोमवार का व्रत रखते हैं और शिवलिंग पर जल, दूध, और बेलपत्र चढ़ाकर भगवान शिव की पूजा-अर्चना करते हैं.
