Coastal Style Rice Dumplings in Clams Curry
Ingredients: (Clams Curry)
Fresh Clams
For Dry Roast :(No. 1 - 9)
1) 10 Bedgi Chillies
2) 3 Tsp Coriander Seeds
3) 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
4) 1/4 Tsp Fennel Seeds
5) 1/2 Tsp Peppercorns
6) Pinch of Fenugreek Seeds
7) Pinch of Mustard Seeds
8) Half Shell Grated Coconut
9) Turmeric Powder
10) Half Lemon size Tamarind
11) Curry Leaves + 1 Medium size Onion
12) Salt as required
To Fry in Oil:
Coconut Oil
13) 1 Medium size Onion
14) 8 Garlic Flakes
Ingredients: (Rice Dumplings)
2 Cups Idli Rice
Half Shell Grated Coconut
Salt as required
Method of Cooking: (For Clams Curry)
Clean and wash the Clams.
Boil the Clams with little water and don't add Salt.
Let it cook till done.
A) Dry Roast all the ingredients except No. 10 & 11 & 12
B) Fry in 2 Tsp Coconut Oil No. 13 & 14.
C) Grind with little water A, B & No. 10 to a fine smooth paste.
D) Heat a Clay Pot or any other vessel add Coconut Oil, add No. 11(Curry Leaves + 1 Medium size Onion) & fry till golden brown.
E) Then add the ground masala & add cooked Clams water for good taste & add salt as required.
Method of Cooking: (Rice Dumplings)
1. Soak 2 Cups of Idli Rice overnight.
2. Next Day Grind the Soaked Idli Rice with Half Coconut Shell Grated Coconut & salt.
3. Heat a Pan and pour the Batter and stir continuously on low flame till it reaches the thick consistency shown.
4. Make the shapes as shown in the video.
5. Steam the Rice Dumplings for about 20 to 25 Mins.
