Totally Cool, Inc. recalled ice cream products from over a dozen brands distributed through retail stores and home delivery nationwide after the FDA found potential traces of Listeria monocytogenes in their samples. The recalled brands include popular names like Friendly's, Hershey's, and Chipwich. There have been no reported illnesses linked to the recalled ice cream products so far. Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled ice cream brands and throw them away. An earlier Listeria outbreak in 2024 linked to queso fresco and cotija cheeses led to 23 hospitalizations and 2 deaths. Totally Cool halted further ice cream production and distribution after the FDA findings.
