BJP MP Om Birla has been elected as the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha. To this extent, the members elected him by voice vote. Prime Minister Modi and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, respectfully took him to the Speaker's seat and seated him.
