More families are turning to renting due to challenges in saving for deposits or affording mortgage rates, leading to a nearly doubling in the proportion renters over a generation. This fuels concern for Generation Stuck – those currently unable to buy a home - as 42% of renters fear that they will be stuck renting for the rest of their lives.
