Herbuveaux was a well-known and well-liked bandleader in Chicago in the '20s; he certainly kept on top of popular styles thanks to the arrangements by trumpet player and future bandleader Rex Maupin. They are good examples of the hot mid-west style. Herbuveaux later became the music director for the NBC radio studios in Chicago, and played an important role in early television history of the same city. This great record was made in 1927.
