A missing door plug that detached from an Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 on Friday has been found in the backyard of an Oregon teacher. The door plug is a panel where an optional emergency exit can be placed depending on passenger capacity. It blew out of the plane during the incident causing rapid depressurization. Pilots struggled with communication issues after one officer lost their headset. In the days before the incident, the plane had experienced air pressurization alerts that grounded it from long flights until further inspection.
