A man has been jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of owning a dog dangerously and causing injury. Marcus Walsh, 41 of Plantation Close in Merthyr Tydfil was banned from owning dogs at the time of the attack when his 2 Bully XL dogs mauled a woman for roughly 7 minutes, causing puncture wounds and PTSD.
Yellow rain warnings are in place across Wales until Friday evening, with motorists in particular warned of poor driving conditions. Flooding will be likely in some areas, with up to 2 inches of rain in two hours at the wettest locations. The Met office have also warned of gusts of up to 60 miles per hour on the coast.
A 300 million pound ski resort in Merthyr Tydfil could be a beacon of hope and opportunity for the area according to council leader Geraint Thomas. The proposed Rhydycar West leisure resort is currently being considered by the council and would feature one of the longest ski slopes in the world at 400m.
