A former officer who assaulted a member of the public while on duty has been jailed.
Former PC Thomas Karlsen, who was attached to the Met Police's South West Command Unit, appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday, 5 September, where he was sentenced to four months custodial suspended for 12 months, 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement, and an 80 hour Community Order (unpaid work). He is also required to pay £400 compensation to the victim.
The attack happened when Karlsen was called to a domestic dispute in New Malden in November 2022.
