UN energy chief to visit nuke plant to check on final preparations for wastewater release
Rafael Mariano Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is set to travel to Japan, where he will meet with Japanese leaders and observe the final preparations for the release of treated radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean. Grossi will visit the severely damaged Fukushima power plant from the fatal 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
