UN Backs Japan's Nuclear Wastewater Release to Pacific Ocean
The UN nuclear agency supports Japan's decision to release treated radioactive wastewater into the ocean from the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant. The plan was opposed by neighboring countries due to safety concerns. Despite meeting the international standards, local fishing organizations are worried that their reputation will be damaged even if their catch isn’t contaminated.
