A mother and stepdad have been sentenced after being found guilty for the death of 2 year old Lola James. Kyle Bevan, 31, has been sentenced to at least 28 years for murder, with Sinead James, 30, Lola’s mother, being handed a 6 year sentence for causing or allowing her death.

The number of rough sleepers in Cardiff has continued to grow, and has reached its highest point since before the pandemic. Homelessness in the city peaked in February 2020, with a sharp drop in the months during lockdown, but the Wallich say gaps in service provision is causing the number to grow.

Councillors have condemned far-right extremists who were protesting a proposed refugee facility in Llantwit Major in March. The former Eaglewell school is set to be turned into temporary accommodation for Ukrainian refugees, with Conservative group leader George Carroll saying protests like those are never acceptable in our society.
