Views 7

We've talked about this one on our cinema guide before, but with critics and audiences raving so much about the star performance, and it being recognised by the academy, we couldn't NOT revisit The Whale. Could Brendan Fraser scoop an Oscar for his performance as Charlie - an obese and reclusive teacher who tries to reconnect with his teenage daughter for a chance at redemption?

Next up - aaaaand the 76% approval rating on rotten tomatoes goes to - Plane starring Gerard Butler and Mike Colter. It follows a pilot who saves passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island - only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. Expect smooth and suspenseful storytelling, with all the action and special effects you came for.

And last - A couple escape their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland, only to hear stories of mysterious creatures who live in the ancient woods at the foot of their garden in Unwelcome. Watch through your fingers and try not to spill your popcorn with this Irish folk horror.
