समुद्र शास्त्र के मुताबिक महिलाओं की दांयी यानि सीधी आंख का फड़कना शुभ नहीं माना गया है. वहीं यदि किसी पुरुष की सीधी आंख फड़कती है तो इसे शुभ माना जाता है. मान्यता है किसी पुरुष की यदि सीधी आंख फड़कती है तो ये किसी कार्य में सफलता या धन लाभ का संकेत हो सकता है. यदि किसी स्त्री की सीधी आंख फड़कती है तो इसके ये फल माने गए हैं.

According to Samudra Shastra, blinking of right eye of women is not considered auspicious. On the other hand, if a man's straight eye blinks, then it is considered auspicious. It is a belief that if a man's straight eye blinks, then it can be a sign of success in some work or gain of money. If a woman's straight eye twitches, then these are considered its fruits.
