Stocks slipped on Wednesday morning as votes in the midterm elections continue to be counted and control of the House and the Senate is undetermined. Futures on the S&P 500 fell 0.2 percent in premarket trading on Wednesday and saw a 0.6 percent gain during regular trading hours on Tuesday. Investors and analysts have commented that gridlock in Congress could be positive for the stock market because it may limit legislation that would impact businesses.
