Burkina Faso: Processing local poultry into sausages

In 2015, Alima ZAGRÉ started selling poultry by opening “La Volaille du Faso” in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. At that time, holder of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Taxation, she was employed in an organisation.

At the end of her contract in 2019, she decided to devote herself fully to this activity. She then had the idea of producing poultry and processing it into sausages.

Alima was got the support of her relatives, who at first were worried about her decision. In the coming years, she plans to settle in other cities of Burkina Faso and in the West African sub-region, in countries such as Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal.
