अहोई अष्टमी के दिन माताएं अपने पुत्रों की लंबी उम्र, सुख - समृद्धि और खुशहाल जीवन के लिए निर्जला व्रत रखती हैं. ये व्रत मां और बेटे के प्यार को दर्शाता है. इस दिन अहोई माता की पूजा की जाती है. ये व्रत कार्तिक मास की कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को मनाया जाता है.
