Black Pearl was formed in 1967 by three of the ex members of Cape Code's The Barbarians. Initially based in Boston, they relocated to San Francisco shortly after forming. Black Pearl released two albums, Black Pearl in 1969 and Black Pearl Live in 1970. Mainly Weast Coast blues-infected heavy psychedelic rock, with three lead guitars and soulful vocals.
