An almost forgotten band from Thorp, Wisconsin, formed under the original name "Attila And The Huns" back in 1964. For a long time, the team did not claim to be more than popular among fans of dance floors and regulars in small clubs. Two singles released in a small circulation (at own expense) were rather a tribute to some vanity and a normal desire to spread the tail in front of familiar girls, and not at all a means of promotion and success. But something happened that happened quite often in those days - at one of the regional competitions in 1967, they were heard by a beginner, but already quite a well-known scout and businessman Lenny LaCour, and immediately offered his producer services. The fact is that the music of "Attila And The Huns" was a kind of mix of soul, garage and mainstream rock, what could appeal to the “general audience” with its energy and novelty. LaCour signed a preliminary agreement with Chess Records, the material for the release was already agreed upon, the artists of the studio even managed to prepare the cover, but the deal fell through, for what reason is unknown. However, Lenny decided not to give up and release the release on his own. The name had to be changed to "Filet Of Soul". It was decided to buy the cover, which the gang liked, from the authors, but since the funds were very limited, they had to be content not with a color, but with a black and white version. It was decided to minimize the cost of renting a studio and the entire disc was recorded in one day! Happy "writers-performers" received 50 copies of freshly beaten vinyl and went to celebrate this event in the company of girlfriends, handing out their few copies with sweeping and proudly signed autographs. Some part of the meager circulation went on sale, but the absolute lack of promotion and low sound quality did not make this release a significant event.
