Amalaki or Rangbhari Ekadashi falls on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month. Lord Shri Hari resides in the Amla tree. That is why on this day Lord Shrihari is worshiped by sitting under the gooseberry tree. It is also called Amla Ekadashi or Amla Ekadashi. One should not consume rice on the day of Ekadashi.
