The last rites of a person who made a significant contribution to the nation are performed with full political honours. This is called a state funeral. The Union Home Ministry issues a gazette notification for this. All the arrangements for the funeral are done by the Ministry of Defence.

राष्ट्र के लिए महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देने वाले व्यक्ति का अंतिम संस्कार पूरे राजनकीय सम्मान के साथ किया जाता है. इसे राजकीय अंत्येष्टि कहा जाता है. केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय इसके लिए राजपत्र अधिसूचना जारी करता है. अंतिम संस्कार की सभी व्यवस्थाएं रक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा की जाती हैं.
