Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), after the tenure of former UGC President DP Singh ended in the first week of December 2021. Since then the post of UGC chairman was vacant.
