Presenting the Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced that India will issue sovereign bonds for funding green infrastructure. "Funds will be used for projects that will help reduce the carbon intensity of the economy. Sovereign green bonds will be part of the government’s borrowing programme in Fiscal Year 2023," Nirmala Sitharaman said.
