A campaign in Maidstone is encouraging people to be more friendly.

The West Kent Befriending Service helps isolated older people and launched the campaign to coincide with World Friendship Day.

The service had been in financial difficulty but last week a series of huge donations helped raise enough money to take referrals for new members.

We were joined by Wendy Pfeiffer from the Service to talk a bit more about it.
