## storyline

Quick thinking Australian motorists guided a stranded black swan and cygnet to safety across a busy freeway in Perth on Monday (August 23).

The swans had become stuck on the inside of the Kwinana Freeway on the Narrows Bridge during the morning peak traffic.

Anthony Mearns, who captured the footage of the swans, said a tow truck driver stopped and put his lights on to warn oncoming traffic, before shepherding the swans across the multiple lanes.

The tow truck driver, with assistance from another motorist, managed to guide the swans off the road in front of halted traffic.
