Toxic shock syndrome is a disease that is very dangerous for the body. It is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus or staph. This bacteria is found only in the body of women. Toxic shock syndrome usually affects women more during periods, especially those women who use tampons.
