The Odisha government on July 3 said that this year's annual Rath Yatra festival will be held without crowds of devotees and they will not be allowed to watch the rituals from rooftops en route to the chariot. Puri District Magistrate Samarth Verma told reporters here that the administration has reviewed its decision and restrictions have also been imposed on viewing the Rath Yatra from the roofs of homes and hotels.

ओडिशा सरकार ने 3 जुलाई को कहा कि इस साल वार्षिक रथयात्रा उत्सव श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ के बगैर ही होगा और उन्हें रथ के मार्ग में छतों से भी रस्म देखने की अनुमति नहीं होगी। पुरी के जिलाधिकारी समर्थ वर्मा ने यहां संवाददाताओं से कहा कि प्रशासन ने अपने फैसले की समीक्षा की है और रथयात्रा का दृश्य घरों एवं होटलों की छतों से देखने पर भी पाबंदी लगा दी गई है।
