Meanwhile, MD of Mayo Clinic, Vincent Rajkumar has warned about steroids being used in treatment. On his Twitter handle, he is constantly giving information on the use of steroids. Vincent Rajkumar wrote in one of his posts, 'Many such infected youth are also dying in India which should be recovered easily. I urge Indian doctors to reduce the use of steroids for treatment. Steroids are only beneficial for hypoxic patients. It can be dangerous to give it at the initial stage.

इस वक्त पूरा देश कोरोना संक्रमण की दूसरी लहर से जूझ रहा है. भले ही कई राज्यों के रिकवरी रेट में पहले से सुधार हुआ है, लेकिन अभी भी रोजाना हजारों लोग जान गंवा रहे है. इस बीच मेयो क्लीनिक के एमडी विंसेंट राजकुमार ने इलाज में इस्तेमाल हो रहे स्टेरॉयड को लेकर आगाह किया है. अपने ट्विटर हैंडल पर वे लगातार स्टेरॉयड के इस्तेमाल पर जानकारी दे रहे हैं. भारत में कई ऐसे संक्रमित युवा है जो जान गंवा रहे है जिन्हें आसानी से रिकवर हो जाना चाहिए. मैं भारतीय डॉक्टर्स से ये आग्रह करता हूं कि इलाज में स्टेरॉयड का इस्तेमाल कम कर दें. स्टेरॉयड सिर्फ हाइपोक्सिक मरीजों के लिए ही फायदेमंद है. इसे शुरुआती स्टेज पर देना खतरनाक हो सकता है.'
