A new gas supply deal has been signed between the National Gas Company and the Trinidad Nitrogen Company Limited which has contributing significantly to the local economy over the past 25 years.

But the new deal occurred against the backdrop from what the Energy Minister called a plateauing of the supply of natural gas from exploration companies like bp and Shell as well as the impact of the COVID crisis/
