The Government says, it welcomes a new contract signed between the state-owned gas company and bpTT.

And, it's describing this as "crucial" to the future supply of natural gas.

The Energy Ministry made the announcement after the contract was signed on Friday.

Government officials say, it's a clear and tangible indicator, of bp's continued commitment to T&T.
