The Matua votes are at the centre of a struggle for control between the ruling TMC and the opposing BJP in West Bengal. Poll observers will be closely observing the verdict in the Matua segments of Bongaon, Nadia, Coochbehar, Dinajpur, and Burdwan, among others, in these ongoing assembly elections.

पश्चिम बंगाल में विधानसभा चुनाव के छठे चरण का मतदान आज जारी है. छठे चरण में कुल 1.04 करोड़ मतदाता 306 उम्मीदवारों के भाग्य का फैसला करेंगे. इसमें उत्तर 24 परगना, उत्तर दिनाजपुर, पूर्वी बर्दवान और नदिया जिले की 43 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए मतदान हो रहा है. चुनाव के लिए कुल 14,480 मतदान केंद्र बनाये गये हैं. कोरोना संकट को देखते हुए प्रचार का समय 24 घंटे कम कर दिया गया है.
