A BJP leader has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the election marks of political parties be removed from EVM machines and the candidates' names, ages, qualifications and photographs should be printed. The Supreme Court has currently refused to issue notice on this petition and has asked the petitioner to give a copy of the petition to the Attorney General or the Solicitor General. The Supreme Court will later hear the case.

बीजेपी के एक नेता ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में याचिका दायर कर मांग की है कि ईवीएम मशीनों से राजनीतिक दलों के चुनाव चिह्न हटाए जाएं और उनकी जगह प्रत्याशियों के नाम, उम्र, योग्यता और तस्वीर छापी जाय. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस याचिका पर फिलहाल नोटिस जारी करने से इनकार किया है और याचिकाकर्ता को अटॉर्नी जनरल या फिर सॉलिसिटर जनरल को याचिका की एक कॉपी देने को कहा है. सुप्रीम कोर्ट बाद में इस मामले पर सुनवाई करेगा.
