Maharashtra accounts the maximum share in the total Covid-19 caseload of the country. Mumbai alone reported 2377 infections on March 17. In wake of the rising Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that it is necessary to impose a night curfew. On complete lockdown, Kishori Pednekar said that it will cause problems to the public. The government had announced a week-long lockdown in Nagpur in view of spike in daily infections.
