Team India's domestic season is off to an auspicious start with the team putting England under pressure with two wickets in the morning session of first Test in Chennai on Friday. One of the prize scalped on the day also turned out to Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah's maiden Test wicket at home when he removed England's no. 3 Dan Lawrence for nought in the 26th over of the day. Lawrence was trapped lbw by the 27-year-old pacer after the right-handed batsman failed to read an inswinger which pitched in from just short of the good length.

चेन्नई के फ़्लैट ट्रैक पर इंग्लैंड के बल्लेबाजों ने सधी हुई शुरुआत की. पहले विकेट के लिए फिफ्टी पार्टनरशिप की. लेकिन, रोरी बर्न्स के विकेट गिर जाने के बाद सब कुछ बदल गया. लंच से पहले आखिरी के कुछ ओवरों में बैक टू बैक भारत ने विकेट चटकाए. और पहला सेशन अपने नाम किया. सलामी बल्लेबाज रोरी बर्न्स के विकेट गिरने के बाद डेनियल लौरेंस को बुलाया गया. तीसरे नम्बर पर बल्लेबाजी करने आए डैनियल लौरेंस को जसप्रीत बुमराह ने पहले ही ओवर में चलता कर दिया. डैनियल लौरेंस खाता भी नहीं खोल पाए. इंग्लैंड के इस बल्लेबाज ने हाल ही में श्रीलंका के खिलाफ पहले टेस्ट मैच में अच्छी बल्लेबाजी की थी. इसके बाद खूब चर्चा भी बटोरी थी. पर चेन्नई में डैनियल लौरेंस कमाल नहीं दिखा पाए. रोरी बर्न्स के आउट होने के बाद विराट कोहली ने तुरंत अटैक पर जसप्रीत बुमराह को बुलाया.
