National Doctors’ Day is celebrated on July 1 every year. The aim is to honour the medics in our lives. The day showcases the continuous work of doctors as a society towards maintaining a healthy generation. In India, National Doctors' Day is observed in the memory of the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who was born on July 1, 1882. National Doctors' Day is celebrated by health care organisations, wherein doctors and nurses are honoured for their work. Dr Roy's birth and death anniversary coincide on the same day. National Doctors' Day 2019 will witness various events at hospitals and medical colleges honouring doctors and the profession.
