일본 정부, 입국 거부 대상으로 한국 전역 지정... 韓외교부 유감 표명
To prevent COVID-19 spread, Japan has expanded entry ban on foreigners to include South Korea, the U.S. and China.
Following a coronavirus task force meeting this evening, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced, the number of nations included in the new measure has increased by 49 to 73... and will be in effect from Friday.
Seoul expressed regret over the decision.
Tokyo previously only barred entry to people from virus-hit Daegu and nearby counties.
The foreign ministry criticized the measure as a move that disregards South Korea's achievements and the quarantine efforts that have led to a decline in newly confirmed cases.
Anyone arriving in Japan will be asked to start a voluntary two-week quarantine.
