Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad on Wednesday said the state government hoped to reopen the border with Singapore within the next few days.
He said this will be done with more stringent health checks on both sides of the border.
He told reporters that the government would come up with a mitigation plan.
Beginning Wednesday, the border has been locked down, except for lorries and people with special permission.
