Falgun Amavasya is on 23 February this time. On this day, offering of ancestors for peace brings peace to their souls. Also, bathing in sacred rivers on this day also has special significance. The belief behind this is that on the day of Phalgun Amavasya, the abode of the gods is on the banks of the confluence. The pundits believe that if the pagans are performed for the fathers on the day of Phalgun Amavasya, then there is the benefit of the year-long Amavasya offering.


फाल्गुन अमावस्या इस बार 23 फरवरी को है। इस दिन पितरों के निमित्त तर्पण करने से उनकी आत्मा को शांति मिलती है। साथ ही इस दिन पवित्र नदियों में स्नान का भी खास महत्व है। इसके पीछे मान्यता ये है कि फाल्गुन अमावस्या के दिन देवताओं का वास संगम के तट पर होता है। पंडितों का मानना है कि यदि फाल्गुन अमावस्या के दिन पितरों के निमित्त तर्पण किया जाए तो साल भर की अमावस्या के तर्पण का लाभ मिल जाता है।
