New Delhi, Dec 15 (ANI): Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Sunday said that the entire Northeast especially the Assam region has been engulfed in violence, adding that the state has become the new Kashmir.

He said, “It is a matter of concern that the entire Northeast, especially the Assam region has been engulfed in violence. Assam is recognised as a strategically important place for the country. On one hand, it is Kashmir valley and on the other, the new Kashmir, Assam.”

After the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 passed from both the houses, several incidents occurred in the Northeast.
