This entire process has received approval from both houses of parliament.

नागरिकता संशोधन बिल 2019 के पास होने के बाद से जारी विवाद के बीच अब पड़ोसी देश मालदीव का भी बयान आ गया है। इसपर मालदीव ने कहा है कि ये भारत का आंतरिक मामला है। मालदीव की संसद के स्पीकर मोहम्मद नशीद ने इसपर कहा, 'ये भारत का आतंरिक मामला है, हमें उनके लोकतंत्र पर पूरा भरोसा है। इस पूरी प्रक्रिया को संसद के दोनों सदनों से मंजूरी मिली है।'
