Indian-American Abhijeet Banerjee has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics for the year 2019. Abhijit Banerjee received the Nobel jointly with France's Esther Duflo and America's Michael Kramer. He has received the award for the work done for poverty alleviation at the global level.

भारतीय अमेरिकी अभिजीत बनर्जी को साल 2019 के लिए अर्थशास्त्र का नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया गया है। फ्रांस की एस्थर डुफ्लो और अमेरिका के माइकल क्रेमर के साथ संयुक्त रूप से अभिजीत बनर्जी को नोबेल मिला। वैश्विक स्तर पर गरीबी उन्मूलन के लिए किए गए कार्यों के लिए उन्हें पुरस्कार मिला है। समिति के बयान में तीनों को अर्थशास्त्र का नोबेल दिए जाने की घोषणा की।
