With African swine fever spreading among wild boars near the DMZ, soldiers will be sent to shoot and kill the animals to keep them from spreading the virus.
The government announced the plan on Sunday... after four infected boars were found dead over the weekend in Cheolwon and Yeoncheon.
From tomorrow, the soldiers will be tasked with culling all boars within three-hundred square kilometers of those sites.
Also, barbed wire will be used to enclose an area within five kilometers of them to keep the boars from fleeing.
Elsewhere, traps will be set up and drones with thermal sensors will be used to detect animals that are infected.
There are also plans in the works to give bounties to civilians who capture or kill boars in the area.
