Maharashtra assembly elections: know the political equation of Nagpur East seat

There has been a direct fight between Congress and BJP on the Nagpur East seat. Since 1978, the Shiv Sena has won thrice since Nagpur, BJP twice and NCP and Congress once each. The BJP has been winning this seat continuously for the last two times. In such an election, the party will want to retain this seat. This seat was held by the NCP in 2004 before the BJP. From 1990 to 1999, this seat has been continuously occupied by Shiv Sena. Ganesh Nayak was twice elected MLA from Shiv Sena from this seat. In 1985, Gauri Janardan Shantaram of Congress won the elections.

नागपुर ईस्ट सीट पर कांग्रेस और बीजेपी के बीच सीधी लड़ाई होती रही है. नागपुर पूर्वी सीट पर 1978 से अब तक तीन बार शिवसेना, दो बार बीजेपी और एक-एक बार एनसीपी और कांग्रेस ने जीत दर्ज की है। पिछले दो बार से ये सीट लगातार बीजेपी जीतती आ रही है। ऐसे में इस चुनाव में पार्टी इस सीट को बरकरार रखना चाहेगी। बीजेपी से पहले 2004 में इस सीट पर एनसीपी का कब्जा था। 1990 से लेकर 1999 तक इस सीट पर लगातार शिवसेना का कब्जा रहा है। इस सीट से गणेश नायक दो बार शिवसेना से विधायक चुने गए। वहीं 1985 में कांग्रेस के गौरी जनार्दन शांताराम चुनाव जीते थे।
