There had been a handful of names circulating in the wake of John Bolton's exit from the Trump administration as the U.S. National Security Adviser... as for his replacement.
It looks like that list has been narrowed down to about five.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Tuesday, President Donald Trump said he narrowed his shortlist to Fred Fleitz, Bolton's former chief of staff and a former CIA analyst, Rick Waddell, former deputy national security adviser, as well as Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, the undersecretary for nuclear security at the Department of Energy.
Vice President Mike Pence's national security adviser Keith Kellogg, and Robert O'Brien, the special envoy for hostage affairs at the State Department, rounded out the list.
Trump fired Bolton last Tuesday and said he would announce his replacement this week.
